THE outgoing Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) President Leodegar Tenga has donated 1,200 balls worth 30,000 US Dollars (about 50m/-) to regional football associations and 21 youth academies in the country.

Tenga opted to spend his personal fortune-- a 30,000 US dollars--that the world football governing body paid him for his mediation work in a football crisis that had hit neighbouring Kenya, to push football development.

Speaking at a brief handing over ceremony held at the TFF headquarters, Tenga said he took the initiative as he believes that balls are an essential tool in the development of the sport.
