The former Chairman of the council of East and Central Africa Fotball Associations (Cecafa) also the former chairman of Tanzania FA, Leodegar Tenga will contest for a seat in the FIFA Council – the highest organ in the world governing body.
Tenga standing for the English speaking seat will contest against Ghana’s Kwesi Nyantakyi and Zambia’s Kalusha Bwalya when the CAF goes to the polls in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia on March 16th.
Tenga who is highly respected in Africa is a man of principles and he has promised to serve the whole of Africa with dedication and commitment. He is asking for their vote so that he can advocate for them at the FIFA house.

Tenga who also serves on the CAF Executive Committee was in Gabon recently, taking the opportunity to ask African delegates to put trust in him.
Many delegates interviewed independently said they trusted Tenga because of his clear vision and steadfastness.
Tenga, an engineer by profession is also highly respected in Tanzania where he served the FA for eight years and left with his head high. He also served for two terms at CECAFA.
Tenga has a glittering Career in sports. He played for Tanzanian giants Yanga as well as the national team Taifa Stars.
He believes African football has really grown and there is more opportunity for it to grow further.
